What moves the number.

  1. 01Pipeline ownership. Marketers measured on pipeline or revenue earn more than those measured on reach.
  2. 02Channel depth. Paid, lifecycle and SEO specialists price differently.
  3. 03Hands-on vs managing. At your stage, hands-on seniors are worth more than managers.
  4. 04Bonus. Some roles add a 10-20% bonus tied to pipeline.

If you’re hiring one.

  • Hire someone who has done the job with a small budget.
  • Agree the metric before you hire: pipeline, signups or revenue.
  • Ask your sales team to interview them. Sales trusting marketing is half the job.

Ranges are typical, not limits. A great candidate in a hot market can sit above them.
